Residence at Calicut
One room, and everything in it tuned to a single register. The headboard wall is planked in oak, alternating wide boards with narrow fluted returns so the surface changes as the light moves across it during the day. The bed is low and wide, its upholstered headboard running past the mattress on both sides to carry a pair of slim side tables, and the whole assembly sits clear of the floor on a plinth. Blinds and sheers are layered at both windows so the room can be dimmed without going dark.
